Make a positive impact

Our core values drive everything we do.

You want results

So do we. When we start any client engagement, we begin with the end in mind.

Sounds simple and obvious but the difference at Alate is that we don't just ask the questions, we listen, we diagnose and we leverage the Program Success Path methodology to work backwards to tailor a program that delivers on your goals. We know that it's not just about capability, it's about deliberate application.

We don't shoe-horn off-the-shelf courses yet we don't have to re-invent the wheel. We leverage best practices and proven approaches to tailor a program that takes you on the journey to measurable outcomes.

Here's what our Program Success Path approach looks like.

Begin with the end in mind

We work backwards from the business outcomes you want to see, define how this translates to performance outcomes and therefore the actions we need to see across your team.

This defines our program. Deliberately, with focus.

As we deliver, we mutually track progress through Personal Success Paths to build a clear journey to performance and measurable outcomes that demonstrate a clear return on your investment.

Partnership in the real world

Every partner will tell you they get results and they work in partnership. Every reference will be glowing. But here in the real world, things rarely follow the text book. Here are three real examples of how we've taken partnership to heart, adapted to changing landscapes and made a difference by focusing on clients' realities and real-world outcomes.

A client underwent a significant company change in the midst of a mid-level leadership development program. The participants loved the program but the pace and extremity of business change and uncertainty was overwhelming. We saw it without being told.

We quickly and proactively pivoted content to meet them where they were - managing change that was out of their control, creating space to think and building resilience for themselves and their teams. We offered ad hoc coaching (at no charge) to any of the cohort who needed an extra sounding board - and several did.

The result was a leadership cohort who were better able to navigate significant change for themselves and others, reduce burn out and stress and come out as stronger leaders better equipped for future change.

A client was undergoing a significant change in their go to market. Training was intended to support their sellers to adapt to the change but several in the team felt the change wasn't for them and left. That's fairly common when a business changes its focus and needs different sales skills, cadence and greater business acumen to manage bigger, longer and more complex buying journeys. That usually comes with greater accountability and visibility too. It's trainable - and we have great success here - but the individual seller has to want to change.

We doubled down on the sellers who were committed to change, increasing 1:1 coaching and deal support to help them achieve their goals. We paused the main program until the client recruited new sellers, and we worked closely with leaders to focus on the achievable results they needed. All at no additional cost to the client, we're in this together to deliver results.

A client was seeing a lot of benefit from the early stage of our sales program. But, together, we felt the impact could be greater. The team were highly engaged and loved what they were learning but new habits are hard to embed. You need to be able to apply capability, with focus. Sometimes you need to go slow to go fast.

We slowed down the program, adding an extra three weeks between modules to allow managers to double down on coaching new skills until they were truly embedded and measurable. We supported the managers to coach and review progress. We helped identify individuals who needed extra help and those who could role model and mentor others.

The result was a team that truly upped their game, felt highly supported and went on to meet their targets and goals better and faster. And, as you might expect by now, it didn't change the financial investment the client made with Alate. We're focused on results not the clock.
